Valencia Basket has reached an agreement with the head coach of its men’s team, Pedro Martínez, to extend their partnership for one more season. With the new contract, the relationship between the two sides will now run until the end of the 2027–28 season.
Martínez is currently in his fourth season as head coach of the “taronja” bench, across his two spells at the club. During this campaign, he has become the coach with the most wins (184) and the most games coached (251) with the men’s professional team. He has also reached the milestone of being the first coach to win more than one title with the men’s team, adding the 2025 Endesa Supercup to the Endesa League title he lifted in the 2016–17 season.
Although there are still five rounds left to play in the EuroLeague regular season, the “taronja” team has already set new records for total wins and home victories in Europe’s top competition. The team is now entering the decisive stage of its two main competitions, having demonstrated a clear identity and style that has enabled it to compete with any opponent, including those with much larger budgets.
Pedro Martínez’s overall record with Valencia Basket stands at 184–67, representing a 73.3% win rate, which makes him the coach with the highest winning percentage in the club’s history.
